Plasser India Pvt. Ltd. - A Testament to Architectural Ingenuity and Sustainable Innovation

This is one of the most iconic architectural and integrated building envelope project spread in 1,44,000 sq ft area. The Plasser India Pvt. Ltd. Tamping unit and Administration office Phase II has a unique architecture and first of its kind project in India.

Plasser India manufactures the most up-to-date high performance tamping units’ machines only in Germany. Now, they plan to manufacture in India through this state-of-the-art facility. A tamping machine or ballast tamper is a machine used to pack the track ballast under railway tracks to make the tracks more durable which is a highly sophisticated product in rail tracks.

To ensure that the final design meets Plasser & Theurer's international brand image, including its commitment to safety, the environment, and ease of operation for workers and managers, Kingspan Jindal's integrated building envelope solution was used on the roof and walls of the new tamping unit and administration office in India.

This project involves the supply and installation of Architectural wall panels, Architectural Dri Design Façade, KingZip IP standing seam for roof and Kapture Daylight systems. Our Dri Design metallic façade installs faster than many comparable systems and can be direct fix or form a ventilated cavity.

Kingspan Jindal’s Dri-Design Tapered cassettes are angled in any direction with varying depths and degree of slope, without the need to modify the substrate or weather barrier creates a unique architectural finish mounted on a high- performance insulated wall system. Kingspan’s KingZip IP has been installed on the roof. KingZip IP is an insulated standing seam roof panel that gives a secret-fix appearance, super-fast installation with higher architectural values and it easily integrates with the Kingspan Day-Lite Kapture, Kingspan Safety Solutions.

The factory building was made of Architectural Insulated Wall panels, The Kingspan Architectural Wall Panels are secret-Fix wall panel systems that offer unprecedented freedom of design and ultimate performance for architects available in various profile to fulfil the requirement.

Kingspan award winning Day-Lite Kapture Skylight has been used on the roof for the natural lightning. These skylights are designed to maximise light transmittance to diffuse light evenly indoors and to reduce energy costs by decreasing the demand for artificial lighting. The internal nano prismatic layer is what differentiates the Kapture from other skylights, delivering 100% light diffusion, even at low sun levels while also eliminating glare and hot spots, and reducing heat gain.

DESIGN SOLUTION

• To ensure compliance to all environmental standards and make the plant design and construction environment friendly the plant is also equipped with a Kapture day light system which works on Nano prismatic technology.

• The project is also applied for the IGBC Gold rating and LEED certification.

• The building is designed for optimised climate control and a balance has been created between building cooling, day lighting and energy consumption.

• The cooling load design is optimised by keeping adequate day light for emergency evacuation if needed, however the daylight is not for adequate for working lux levels. This allows lower consumption of HVAC energy.

• The entire visible exterior of the building is clad in a double layer industrial façade system, that allows phased completion of the internal skin, and a final architectural veneer to be applied in the end, for a high-performance, long lasting and industrially neat finish.
